OPT Post-Trade System
Records and maintains the full status of the market after every trade.
Overview
OPT captures trades from the trading venue and records and maintains the full market status: trading information, investor assets, broker information, legal transfers, and seized and pledged shares. Exceptions are handled through controlled intervention, and trade and reference data are distributed to clearing, back-office and downstream systems.
It serves the central depository, the regulator, the exchange and brokers through a web-based interface. Connections run through an integration gateway built on ActiveMQ, ISO 20022 and FIX, and the system runs on an Oracle RAC database with capacity for 100 million shareholders.
After a trade is matched, the market still has to know, precisely and at all times, who owns what, which shares are pledged or seized and which transfers have taken place. Errors here become legal and financial problems.
